Learn about CEO's Partnerships Programs, Hosted at MCAC Partner Schools

MCAC
The Michigan College Advising Corps (MCAC) places recent college graduates within Michigan high schools as college advisers. Over 1-3 years of AmeriCorps service, they guide students and families through postsecondary options, applications for college and financial aid, and decisions about life after graduation. In addition to intensive summer training, CEO provides advisers with weekly professional development to help them supplement and cultivate their schools’ existing college-going culture.
GEAR UP (GU)
The federal grant program hosted by CEO, GEAR UP, supports over 1,000 students from 7th grade through their first year in college, building knowledge and confidence through in-classroom activities, after-school programs, community-based events, family connections, summer residential programs, college tours, financial aid nights, and application bootcamps. CEO also leads the statewide GU coordination of Kick Off celebrations for students.
Raise Scholars
Donor-funded program, Raise Scholars focuses on strengthening students' academic skills, hosting student opportunities to develop leadership experience, providing mentorship for their college application process, and preparing families for what comes after graduation with continued support along their decision paths. Special events promote a sense of belonging at U-M and connection with current U-M students, staff, faculty, alumni, and donors.

Our School Partners

Scroll below to learn more about how we partner with schools and organizations to support students

Our Approach to Students: Whatever Your Next Step Is, We’ve Got You.

You don’t need to have everything figured out, but it helps to know where to start. Maybe you want to step onto a college campus and see what it actually feels like. Maybe you have questions about cost, applications, belonging, or what you might want to study. Or maybe you are still figuring out what you want your future to look like.

Wherever you are starting, CEO can connect you to people, tools, and experiences that can help you figure out what comes next.

Our Approach to Schools: Students Move Further When We All Work Together

The people closest to students often understand best what they need. Schools, families, educators, community organizations, and colleges each bring different knowledge, relationships, and resources. When those pieces connect, students have stronger support around them and more ways to explore what comes next.

CEO partnerships are designed to build on the work already happening in your community, not replace it. And definitely not start from scratch.

Keeping Our Work Grounded: Remembering What Makes Partnership Possible & Sustainable

  • Reach Further: Connect students with people, experiences, and resources they may not otherwise encounter.
  • Build on What Already Works: Strengthen the support already happening in your school or community through shared goals, resources, and relationships.
  • Connect the People Around Students: Bring educators, advisers, mentors, campus partners, families, and communities into stronger connection around students.
  • Keep Support Moving: Build continuity from early college exploration through applications, financial aid, college transition, and the next steps.

Let’s Build What Students Need, Together.

You know your students and your community. Bring that knowledge. We will bring ours.

Together, we can build connections that give students more support today and more momentum for whatever comes next. Let’s get started.
